The Top Chef Experience was Excellent! The event helped us raise over $37,000 for our program to help alleviate the financial stress for cancer fighters. The volunteers, Bacalar staff, all our generous donors, and Tony Foundation board members were all in attendance and working hard to raise money for cancer fighters!
The first 90 minutes was a Cocktail Experience with Music in the main restaurant space at Bacalar in Downtown Austin. There was an Auction & Kendra Scott Jewelry available for purchase, with Tony Foundation receiving a portion of those proceeds. A 5 course Dinner and amazing drinks were served shortly after.
Gabe Erales, a winner of the hit reality TV show on Bravo, Top Chef (Portland season), had a dream to open Bacalar to bring his roots from the Yucatan to Austin, TX. Gabe is known for his delicious flavors, sauces, and how he can take any ingredients and deliver. He and his entire team definitely delivered on this night with an amazing night of food, philanthropy, and fun by all!
